RIP - Bob Allen

 

Bob Allen, an Indians' reliever in the 1960s, passed away on December 12, 2023 at age 86.

Allen pitched in the Indians' farm system from 1956-60, and made his debut with the Indians in April 1961. 

 

He was with the Tribe for all of '61 and '63, and part of 1962. After 2 seasons in the minors, he returned to Cleveland for the 1966 and 1967 seasons. His final MLB appearance was in September 1967. 

 

He pitched 5 more seasons in the minors for 3 organizations (Indians, Angels, Padres), then retired in 1972.
